I was in a small van with a group of people, most of whom were my classmates in college. I think. We were dropping off a friend at his house. He lived in a small valley ringed by a mountain. There was one road going in and one going out, tunnels hewn through solid rock. There were fissures in the mountain wall from which waterfalls cascaded into the valley, and there were tropical looking plants too, but not so much that it looked like a tropical paradise. There were residential houses scattered about, and hydroelectric power plants because of the water falls.

Anyway. We dropped the guy off and left. The tunnel going out was much longer than the one going in and it was unlit. There was a strike at the power plants and hundreds of workers were picketing on the other side of the mountain. As soon as our van exited the tunnel we were deluged with spit. They thought we were scabs and everyone was spitting on us. It was raining spit. The van had big open windows and we were thoroughly soaked.

A few miles later outside the city we disembarked near a plantation of some kind. We started walking through the neat rows of freshly upturned earth. It was already early evening and everyone was walking stealthily so I had the distinct impression that we were trespassing. A few minutes later someone in the group signaled us to drop and stay close to the ground because there was a patrol passing. Some of us were wearing white tshirts and they were obvious even in the dark. And sure enough they got spotted. So we jumped up and started running. They gave chase. They were babies... babies were chasing us. Maybe a few were a little older but no more that four years old at the most. They tackled us, two or three of them for each one of us, but they were easy to overpower because they were so small. Some of them bit and and stayed stuck on you but it was easy to knock them off. Because they were just babies.
